Country where K & Q are just plain folks (shoemaker and teacher)
doing it part-time just handing out medals and awards,
until a visitor tells everyone how it is elsewhere, palace, jewels, etc.
Everyone decides the country should be like the others.
The new ways grow and grow,
taking everyone's time and effort.
At a force of royal guards they finally revert to old simple way,
make all the fancy stuff a museum and public garden.
My very first one,
first of a series of bedtime stories for
my son.
