I was
so
mad!
I had just finished my best ever pillow fort.
It used every pillow from my Mom's sofa,
and my Dad's sofa,
and from the guest room sofa.
It had a living room and two bedrooms,
and a swimming pool in the back yard.
The pool was a blue plastic dishpan from the kitchen.
Then my Mom walked in and ordered
"Put everything away before your Father gets home."
That really wasn't fair -- I know Dad likes my pillow forts.
But I had to take it all apart anyway.

Girl is never allowed to keep her pillow fort creations.
Then she wins Student of the Month award,
and gets to choose the next class project.
It is the world's greatest pillow fort.
Everyone brings in "extra" sofa pillows from home,
and a corner of the gym is set aside for construction.
My very first one,
first of a series of bedtime stories for
my son.
Read a poem in progress.
