Work Experience
10/99 - 2/00 Designed, and developed a web site for a music band. Used a wysiwyg editor, graphics, and real media (RealPlayer). Lots of cutomer interaction. Researched web site storage options, and streaming media storage solutions. Converted CD tracks to digital RealPlayer files .
Consulted on basic web page building concepts in a Macintosh environment.
The Dewey Corporation (7/98-12/98)
This is a personal family business that sells shower related products and croquet products.
My assignment included bookkeeping, software evaluation, business modeling,
11/86 - 5/97 Boeing Computer Services, Seattle Wa.
Software Engineer.
Distributed Computing Consulting Group (8/96 - 5/97)
This group consults projects in Distributed Computing technologies and Middleware, Client Server Architectures, Web Technology and Object-Oriented Technologies (OOT).
Involved in creating a web page that contains information on how to pursue OOT.
Responsible for the maintenance of C/C++ libraries used company wide on multiple platforms. Those libraries provide manufacturing date and string manipulation routines.
Participate in an OTS evaluation project (Object Transaction Services). Coordinate MQ-Series functionality as an XA resource. Got exposure to CORBA, and Orbix Programming (C++)
Electrical Engineering Preferred Process Group (5/94 - 8/96)
The purpose of this project is to improve the current cycle time in which wire bundles and electrical systems are integrated into the airplane manufacturing process.
Overall responsibility regarding Object-Oriented Methodology issues. Involved in Object-Oriented modeling of several areas in the wire bundle fabrication process. Assisted in the integration of various methodologies and models (P+, Objectory, Responsibility Driven Design (RDD), Business Process Modeling (BPM), and data driven OOA ).
Created a decision support prototype to elicit customer requirements (Smalltalk/Visualworks).
Software Engineering Support (6/90 - 5/94)
This group operates as a consulting group to other software projects. Its purpose is to assist in transferring software engineering practices (management and technical) to projects.
Served as an OO expert on several projects. The tasks usually consisted of preparing OOA specifications, methodology assistance, CASE tool consulting, and sometimes design and implementation. The domains were Repository systems, Airplane Component Simulation, Control Tower to Airplane Communications, and Automated Publishing Systems.
Assisted projects in software engineering practices such as PEP (Fagan inspections), SEI and PTO (SEI maturity levels and Project Tracking and Oversight).
