Feedback

Feedback is the place where you can express your thoughts, ideas and opinions. Feedback messages should be small when possible and should be limited to MWM and M. MWM will not print flammatory messages unless the full name and e-mail address of the person sending it will also appear with the message. Entries may be edited. Please specify if you would like to:
  • use your real name

  • withhold name completely

If you don't specifically instruct us on the naming issue we will default to initials and part of the e-mail following the @ sign.

Send in your e-mail to mwm@mcenter.com with the subject line reading MWM Feedback.

Hi,

Your page seems to be one of the best documented on M-technology. I'm new to it and would like to know if there are shareware programs that allow file transfer from MUMPS systems to PC. Kermit, could be?

Thanks in advance.

I am very interested in this language that you call M. I would like to learn more about it. I have not seen any rough details of its structure. Please if you will, add me to your list of names. I would like to be a part of this up and coming event. It sounds interesting. If possible I would like to contribute any of my expertise or knowledge.

MWM: To be notified when a new issue of MWM goes online, the best route would be to hit the subscribe button on top. Only one detail is required, your e-mail (which will remain confidential).

MWM welcomes reader contributions. If you have any ideas drop us an e-mail.

Hi,

I think that MWM is really a good publication but would like to suggest that it is published more frequently.

Dear Editor,

I like the Tutorial on M best and found it really easy to understand. Why not update this section more often say monthly.

Dear Chris,

Thanks for your e-mail informaing me that M Web Magazine is now "a reality", but cannot figure out why you opted to have this e-zine come out every quarter, when your own survey polls showed that people wanted a monthly publication.

Dear Mr. Bonnici,

Teach You, Teach Me is the part of MWM which interests me the most (I've voted for it). I am a 68 year old fool with lots of time on my hand and an internet connection. The reason for this e-mail is to let you know that amongst your audience you have mature students :-). Thanks for MWM.

PS. Can you make MWM more frequent.

FF, idirect.com

MWM: MWM is the result of voluntary activity by a small number of people. The increased burden necessary to convert MWM into a monthly publication would probably result in MWM either not coming out on time (which would end up turning MWM into a normal web page) or forcing us to shut down MWM completely. All said, we will consider the viability of maybe making the Teach You, Teach Me page update more frequently.

Those who might want to master M at a rate quicker than the one we're moving at, might want to consider a book on the subject. Ed de Moel, interviewed in Who's On has just published a book on the subject. Check out the news page for more information.

Dear Sir,

The feature with Dr. Greenes was really cool. Kudos for being such an informative and free publication.

Hello Chris,

Is MWM the only publication about the programming language M?

HZ, aztec.net

MWM: As far as we know, MWM is the only e-zine on the subject, though there are a number of paper publications on the subject. For example, MTA-UK&I have their own publications as do other M Groups. If you would like to communicate with these user groups or are looking for other M-related internet sites, then probably your best click would be either towards the M Technology Resource Center's links page or on to Chris Bonnici's links page.

Chris,

First of all an A++ for MWM-001. There is a cardinal need for an e-zine about a language worth $1b. I particularly liked the interview with Dr. Greenes and am waiting for MWM-002 (hope you won't dissect this interview beyond MWM-002!!). Do you have plans to make available reprints of selected articles as some of them are worth keeping beyond the short life span of an e-zine?

YZ, msn.com

MWM: Thanks for your kind comments (A++ to you for them :-). We are working at trying to retain as much of MWM online for the longest possible time and issue 001 can still be enjoyed by those who may have either missed it entirely or partially. We hope to lengthen the online duration even further.

On the topic of reprints, MWM will not be producing reprints itself, but will consider written requests for reproduction of some of its articles on paper.
