M Web Magazine Issue 001 (Dec 5, 1996 to Mar 4, 1997)

The Source

Atlas DevelopmentAtlas Development have created a presentation/tutorial of their higher level GUI-enabling product called Visual Architect. Visual Architect is a design product that links a GUI development tool to an M database.

This presentation of Visual Architect is interactive. Topics are aimed at almost any type of programmer. Those who haven't yet dipped their feet into GUI programming can commence with an introduction to GUI programming; those who know nothing else can take the route that demonstrates how to use Visual Architect. On all screens you'll see a button labled MAP. This gives you a list of available topics.

Note to M Companies

The Source has been set up so that you can explain your wares better. As the name states, this section must help explain what a product does, and, more importantly, how it does what it does.
A tutorial (that should contain worked examples) is the type of information our readers expect. If you are interested in booking this section for the March 5, 1997 issue of MWM, drop us a note as soon as possible. Address your e-mail to chribonn@softhome.net with the subject set to MWM The Source. In your e-mail tell us, in a paragraph or two, a little bit about the product (only one) you are proposing together with a rough idea of what you have in mind for your presentation.
MWM will normally offer The Source on a first come, first served basis.

Atlas Development are making this demo available as a take home version. To download the file (approx 6MB), log into Atlas Development's ftp site at 205.186.236.17 (user name: atlas ; password: phoenix). Once logged in, go to the upload directory. There you'll find the file Demo.zip. This is the file you want.

Those who would prefer to receive the demo as an e-mail attachment should e-mail MWM. Requests will be processed weekly.

Installation.

  1. Extract the contents of the file Demo.Zip into a directory (eg ATLAS).
  2. Call up your browser. Once it loads, choose File - Open File.... In the dialog box that appears type in (or select) the file MainMenu.html.
