Debugging CodeWarrior Win32 Projects

Remotely with VirtualPC

Debugging Remotely

There are several steps to debugging your MS Windows application on the target machine.

  • Optionally, use CodeWarrior to set Breakpoints for the application to be debugged.
  • Choose the "Debug" item from the Project menu of CodeWarrior.

The first time you debug the application, CodeWarrior will download the application code and other debugging pieces to the target machine.

If for some reason the Remote Debugger nub ("MWRemote.exe") is not running or responding, or there is a networking problem, the following Alert will be displayed, and you will have to fix the problem before proceeding further.

Otherwise if all goes well, CodeWarrior will break in "main" (or elsewhere if you have configured CodeWarrior appropriately), and wait for you to interact with the debugger and the application being debugged.

And in MS Windows on the target machine, the "MWRemote.exe" debugger nub will indicate that debugging is active.
