I got my CR-V on Jan 13.
It was a lucky day. It's my first SUV, and my first Honda. As I live in
Portugal, I am used to owning cars manufactured by Austin, Fiat, Renault,
and Lancia. These are cars that are not readily available in the
US but very common here in Europe.
Can you tell what's missing
or different here?

As can be seen by the licence
plate my CR-V is registered in Portugal - the "P" white in blue with the
stars of the European Union. In the same way in the US the name of the
State appears in the licence plate, here as we are trying to "build" what
I call the "United Countries of Europe". The initial of the country
appears in the plates. So, F for France, I for Italy, D for Deutschland
(Germany), and so on. |
I decided for the CR-V because
I wanted a SUV good priced, good for the family and good off-road. Well,
not hard off-road but just a way of discovering paths in the mountains.
As I like to go to ski resorts it was important to have a car well behaved
in snow - and reading magazines I was surprised by how good the CR-V is
in snow. As competition models, the RAV4 and the new LandRover Freelander.
No comments about them.
Now,
with more than 1 month driving, I'm really happy. In the mountains,
in the beach, in town. I allways notice people looking at the CR-V.
Although I don't have any options installed in my ES (here we have LS and
ES) I'm thinking of a few like the front protection with the small fog
lights as seen in the Honda catalog. I like the special features like the
table - in the picture above, you can see my older daughter showing a new
way of using it. I like the roomy interior - my younger daughter
can be seen with a huge smile on her face in the picture above as well.
So here is a compilation
of my "wish list":
-
Lighted window switches (I
know, I know, it's done...).
-
All switches with light (ventilation,
roof lights, ...)
-
Exterior temp indicator like
the drawing in the manual (It's in the instructions manual, why not in
my car?)
-
Keyless system with some
car exterior light indicator.
-
Doors opened indicator (I
just have the tail gate indicator). (It's in the instructions manual, why
not in my car?)
-
Gas cap holder.
-
Driver arm rest in the M/T.
-
Cruise control in the M/T.
-
A hard luggage cover where
I could put something without sinking down.
-
A seat belt indicator (It's
in the instructions manual, why not in my car?)
I learned a lot from
the this site and it's good to have the CRVix to share my CR-V with.
