Tips
Use hose clamps, found at auto parts stores, to secure the loader elbow to the gun and the loader to the elbow.
Use big, fat rubber bands to secure loader lids from popping open.
Use a belt pouch to hold your car keys. These can be found at surplus stores for $2.
Keep tank upright before chrono-ing in. This is to prevent liquid CO2 from going into the gun and making it shoot hot.
Keep a spray bottle filled with water in your gear bag. Use the spray to clean goggles and to cool you off.
Buy all tools necessary to repair your paintgun.
Always bring spare O-rings.
Invest in a visor. It will keep you from being seen because of lens glare.
Playing Tips
If you get hit, say "ouch" instead of "hit" and run for cover to check yourself. This is to eliminate false calls because when you say "hit" you're hit!
If you're getting pinned down by fire, get out and relocate.
If gun hits don't count, use it as cover when only your head is visible.
If you're wearing a BDU jacket, keep all pockets unbuttoned and the front open. This is to help balls bounce off of you.
Always reload when there is a break in a firefight.
Always work in pairs. Two sets of eyes (and two guns) are better than one!
Shoot in bursts of three or four when trying to shoot at a prson behind an obsticle. This is because they'll think you've stoped and peek their head out....Splat! you've got em.
Don't shoot until the last minute if you can. If they don't see you let them get close to you! Then pick them off.
Scan, scan, scan. Always keep your eyes open for any movement or glare from a lens.
Reader's Tips
I checked out your
page and thought it was pretty cool. I saw that you mentioned
keeping your BDU jacket unbuttoned. Granted this works, but it
works even better if only the top button is buttoned. When you
run it will flap around in front of you and not so much at the
sides. And since your probably going to be shot from the front it
makes more sense.
Another tip that most newbies don't know. When your gun runs out of gas it makes that crazy sound as it trys to recock(on semis that is). Well most people basically just give up when this happens and they don't have another bottle. However, you can usually squeeze a few extra shots of by cocking it manually (doesn't work on autococker I don't think). Usually this is just enough to save yourself from being hit until you can find a friend with a second bottle.
Ever play indoor? Well, some indoor places use that paintball stopping mesh to partition parts of the field. The cool thing is that paintballs bounce off of that stuff with about the same speed they hit it. So imagine this. Some guy is hiding behind a barracade that is next to a wall of this stuff. You shoot the mesh and it bounces off and hits them. It really works, and well. I've done it a bunch of times.
I like how you mentioned squads of two. One tactic I find that really works good when you can't get someone out of really good cover is to have like one or two people shoot like crazy at their obstacle while a third sneaks up on a flank.
If you're pinned by fire and need to get the hell out of where you are. Fire as fast as you can, blindly in the direction the fire is coming from. When there's alot of firing, run like hell.
