My Home Town is Bocas del Toro, Panama

Underwater Sunlight

And my home is on the sea, over the water

WHAT CAN I SEE IN MY HOME?

Mangrove Inn

My home is comprissed of wood cabins, built over concrete pilots. So I can see (and hear) the water moving below the floors.

All cabins are over a seagrass bed and a sandy bottom, one of the three ecosystems that surrounds my place (the others are the mangrove forest and the coral reef).

Sitting on the decks, I can observe eagle rays, sting rays, parrot fishes and a lot of minows, delicious food of many barracudas and needlefishes, common habitants of these clear waters.

The rays use to come late in the afternoon to catch small crabs and shrimps hidden on the sea grass sandy bottom.

I love the eagle rays, so graceful, so peaceful... If you can see one of this creatures while diving, in mid water, probably you will fall in love with them, like I am.
Swimming lightly, come to see you and, taking a careful look, they fly away like creatures of the air, beautiful birds of the dephts.
