Fibropapilloma Tumors

The turtle you see above is a Hawaiian green (Chelonia mydas) who is seriously inflicted with a disease known as fibropapilloma tumors, or FP. This maybe-contagious infection causes white lumps to grow over the turtle's soft skins, usually beginning with the eyes. Often the turtle will become blind, and in the final stages of the disease, emaniciated. FP is a horrible death.

The cause of this torture is as of now unknown. There are guesses, yes, but whether any of them are right... Among these hypotheses is foreign material in the water. That is caused by--you guessed it--HUMANS. We are the problem.

I will not even make an effort to describe how nasty this disease is. Instead, learn about it here.
If you have a strong stomach.

You are called upon to witness the horrors of this disease.
