What is the Lane Cove River Catchment Management Committee ?

The Lane Cove River Catchment Management Committee (LCRCMC) was set up to promote and facilitate Total Catchment Management (TCM). TCM is a partnership of the government and community working together for a productive future for NSW. It is about preserving our land, water, plant and animal life.

Our aim as the LCRCMC is to identify key issues of concern in the catchment and determine a strategy to better manage this vast area of the North Shore of Sydney Harbour. Our major goal is:

"To ensure that land, water and other natural resources in the catchment of the Lane Cover River are managed in a way that provides a high quality environment, which will support a diverse range of ecosystems."

Our major strategies deal with issues of water quality, land use, education, community participation and inter-agency cooperation within the catchment.
