Summary: The water quality of this sub-catchment is poor. Indicators suggest that the sewerage system is leaking (though no wet weather samples have been taken) and there are high levels of nutrients entering the water ways. Based on the small size of LCR 7, it is more likely that the pollutants measures are coming from LCR 2 sub-catchment across Lane Cove River or from further upstream.

Issues: This is a small largely residential sub-catchment and degradation of the sewerage system may cause increased pollution of the waterways.

Knowledge Gaps: Information on the location of sewerage and stormwater outlets should be obtained. It is difficult to design a water quality monitoring point for this sub-catchment because there is no defined stream.

Recommendations: The number, condition and effectiveness of sewage overflows in this sub-catchment should be collected. On the basis of this information, it may be possible to determine whether the indicated water quality is derived from this sub-catchment or elsewhere. In the mean time, water quality monitoring should continue.
