Summary: Water quality in this sub-catchment is poor. This sub-catchment shares the same problems of ageing infrastructure and under capacity that other sub-catchments in this area do, so faecal coliform counts are high.

Issues: The main issues in this sub-catchment relate to sewage overflows. As described the system is undersized and dilapidated causing an increasing number of overflows which are reducing water quality. Lane Cove Council has anecdotal evidence of a contaminated site at the mouth of Stringybark Creek.

Knowledge Gaps: SWC plans show only 1 designed overflow in the sub-catchment. It is clear that other overflows are occurring and should be located and remedied.

Recommendations: An audit of sewer overflows should be conducted. This would be made easy given access to SWC records.
