Summary: Water quality in this sub-catchment is very poor. Levels of all parameters suggest sewage pollution, high nutrient loadings and possible eutrophication.
Issues: Such high sewage pollution levels suggest extensive leaking and exfiltration from the sewerage system and suggest that the two existing overflows need to be upgraded or expanded if the overflow points are operating effectively. The capacity of the system to cope in wet weather has not been assessed since no wet weather monitoring has been conducted.
Knowledge Gaps: Greater information on the location of overflows, their nature and severity need to be gathered. Information regarding stormwater outlets is complete.
Recommendations: Comencement of a wet weather monitoring programme to assess the effectiveness of existing overflows. Audit of sewerage system to detect and rectify leaks.
