The Power of Lavender
Magic of the *delicate* Blue Flower
The lavender plant has been known for centuries,
and since time immemorial, man has used lavender to relax.
Ancient medical texts extol its healing powers.
Medical science today has found conclusive evidence
that the healing powers of this magical plant have been
praised for very good reasons.
Lavender enchants us, beckoning us to open up to its
seductive messages. It offers its powers for us to
recognise and use in the
promotion of health and well being.
It has the power to create harmony
where harmony is required.
It does so without violence or force.
Its ways are gentle and subtle.
It can rightfully be called ethereal.
Dried lavender blossoms are readily available
in bulk or tiny sachets.
The sachet may be worn on your person
in a strategic place. Body warmth will
release the scent
Lavender essential oil has many uses
For insomnia, a sachet of lavender buds in your pillow
will bring on a ready and peaceful sleep.
A piece of muslin impregnated with 10 drops of essential
lavender oil works just as well.
Lavender oil works wonderfully for muscle aches and pains.
Dilute 10 drops of oil into 2 ounces of Almond oil and
massage the affected area.
Burns respond to lavender oil better than aloe vera.
Kitchen burns, sunburns, cuts, scrapes, scratches all tend
to heal faster when lavender oil has been applied.
Apply the oil 'neat' to the wound
A very good body scrub can be made by mixing
1 Tablespoon of oatmeal with 1 drop of lavender oil
and adding enough water to make a smooth paste.
Mix in these proportions and apply to the body.
Rinse with cool water
