The summer that was so hot has given way to the freezing nights and
shorter days.
The Equinox has passed and we draw closer to
the Winter Solstice, when again the days become longer,
yet the days become colder.
The cycle goes on and on.
Thoughts On An Autumn Day
Amazing things, the short weeks of colour,
Those that announce the coming of fall,
Explosions of colour,
Trees that gave verdant backdrops,
Succumb to their own inevitable death.
A million glowing tints,
Crimson, gold, fiery red,
Dying greens......
A feast for the eyes.
Maples resembling the burning bush,
Each crying their own song,
The mighty feeling of a marching army,
Giving meaning to all the dissonance of the orchestra.
Oaks, Maples, Elms, Beeches, Aspens, Sumacs,
Each alone it its' own hue,
Welcome us to the fall of the year.
They dazzle the senses......
Blooming in style in the Spring......
Their dying is just as majestic.
