Welcome to the second newsletter! I hope everyone's computer is up and rUNNING and you all will be able to view this! everyone sent in lots of stuff especially reviews of concerts and the honors show. So here we go:

vh1 honors 97:
general concensus:
the WALLFLOWERS rocked the audience and brought the whole house down. Undoubtedly the most well received performers there. However:

*some of us felt fran drescher was lying when she told america she listens to "bringing down the horse" everyday.

*one fan sent in a message saying that during the performance of "one headlight", jakob slipped up and said "Sesemary sees" instead of "cemetary trees". Who cares-they sounded great!

*sean penn's intro. For the boys was definetely the best. For those of you who missed it…sean said that jakob picked him up twice in one year hitchhiking. What a good samaritan jake is. I wonder what he drives.

*if you were disappointed that the boys only played 2 songs at the honors there's more for you to see! Apparently there were many more performances that didn't make it into the show including "the difference" performed by the wallflowers, a duet with sheryl crow and jakob Dylan, and a few other group performances in which Jakob played guitar and sang and rami pounded away on the keys.

*if you missed the show and are desperately wondering when it will be replayed, one date I know of is this firday, the 18th from 5:00 to 7:30 and the last half hour will be backstage stuff so don''t forget to watch! (seems like all we wallflower fans do is sit at home on Friday nights waiting for the boys to come on!

*When the Wallflowers were on the Rosie O'Donnell show several months ago; after they performed they were sitting in the chairs talking with Rosie. She offered them twinkies as she usually offers her guests SOMETHING. They all declined saying they didn't want anything at all…

*FURTHER INFO. ON THOSE ARMANI SUITS:
The Wallflowers played the opening of a new Armani store in New York. Then they were sent a binder with color pictures of tons of different suits and stuff and each got to pick one out. So, keep your eyes open. Those suits are popping up all over the place! If you are a fashion freak and watch everything the boys wear you may notice that Jakob has worn that same Armani suit on the "One Headlight" video, performance on Leno, and at the Vh1 Honors show. Others have spotted him wearing it on SNL and Dave Letterman. Who know, maybe he just has lots of the same ones!

*Also, a personal observation of my own: there is a blue polka-dotted shirt floating around that band! I have never seen the band when one member wasn't wearing it. Jakob wears in in the "6th Ave. Heartache" video, Greg wore it at the Honors, Mario on an interview I saw, and lastly Rami wore it in the "One Headlight" video. Must be a lucky shirt.

*While touring with Sheryl Crow, the boys snuck into her dressing room while she was performing and ate all of her expensive cheese.

Concert reviews:

LIN GOT TO THE EDGE EARLY AND WENT TO GET SOMETHING TO EAT IN A RESTAURANT CALLED PRINTERS INC. CAFÉ. IN THERE SHE FOUND NONE OTHER THAN MICHAEL WARD EATING PASTA AND DRINKING A CAPPUCINO. SHE APPROACHED HIM AND TALKED WITH HIM FOR A WHILE. HE SIGNED A PIECE OF PAPER FOR HER AND WROTE ON IT: "DEAR DIARY, THE WALLFLOWERS REALLY LET ME DOWN, MIKE WARD." HER FRIEND GAVE AN ENTHUSIASTIC "THANKS" AND HE SAID "GEEZ, YOU DIDN'T EVEN LOOK AT IT!" WHEN HE GOT UP TO LEAVE, HE TURNED TO LIN AND WAVED. AT THE CONCERT THE AGE SPAN RANGED FROM 10-75. LIN PUSHED AND SHOVED UP TO THE SECOND ROW RIGHT BELOW JAKOB'S MICROPHONE. POLARA OPENENED UP AND PLAYED FOR 45 MINUTES. THE ROOM FINALLY WENT DARK AND THE WALLFLOWERS CAME ON STAGE. JAKOB HAD HIS BACK TO THE AUDIENCE UNTIL THEY STARTED WITH "ONE HEADLIGHT". FOR ONCE, JAKOB WASN'T WEARING ALL BLACK! HE WORE AN UNBOTTONED RED SHIRT WITH WHITE CULIQUES WHERE THE POCKETS SHOULD BE, A WHITE V-NECK UNDERNEATH WITH BLACK JEANS. RAMI WAS WEARING A POLKA-DOTTED SHIRT WITH BLACK JEANS. (WHAT'D I TELL YOU ALL??!!) MIKE WARD WAS WEARING A WHITE SHIRT WITH BLACK JEANS. AN OBNOXIOUS GIRL TRIED TO START A MOSH PIT AND LANDED RIGHT ON TOP OF LIN. JAKOB NOTICED AND YELLED AT HER AND ASKED IF SHE WAS ALLRIGHT. SHE NODDED. FINALLY LIN PUSHED HER WAY TO THE BACK AND STOOD ON SOME STEPS WHERE SHE COULD ACTUALLY SEE BETTER THAN BEFORE. JAKOB WAVED FROM THE STAGE AND ASKED IF SHE COULD SEE ALLRIGHT. LATER JAKE SAID TO SOME GUY, "Are you allright? I was watching you and you were yawning and nodding off. If you need anything to wake you up, just tell me, allright?" Then he kepy copying Polara, saying the band name and where they're from, "Hi, we're the Wallflowers, and we're from Los Angeles. How are you doing Palo Alto? What do you guys do here anyways? Don't you do something with computers?" Afterwards Lin waited around for an hour for photographs. She got a picture with Michael Ward, signings from Rami, and a glimpse of Jakob as he darted into the bus the moment he appeared. He had said they had been on the road for two months and were finally going home that night. When Lin had first arrived at the concert she had caught a glimpse of Jakob playing motorcylce-racing video games in their bus.
