now in st anne martinique- after 56 days in the boatyard in trinidad, we
are finally free again. no more guards with dogs, chain link fences with
razor wire on top and bright blinding lights at night. as a sea trial, we
sailed to chacachacare, an island 6 miles west of trinidads boatyards.
this island is an abandoned leper colony and hospital as of 30 years ago
when a cure was discovered. thru some misunderstanding our scheduled
daysail with the trini family glitched, but we were happpy to spend our
last sunday with bic and shirley ashore: eating, liming, shopping, and
visiting the beach. since departing trini a week ago Libelle has been
performing flawlessly after her 3 mo rest, except when 12 hrs south of
martinique the volvo stuttered in low RPMs - from dirty fuel filters? we
arrived in good spirits in the land of wine, cheese , baguettes and
wonderful music. while at anchor here near le marin, jim helped the volvo
to clean life once again. rosi just purchased matching glasware with dijon
mustard special at the supermarche. looking for weather to sail 3 days
directly to bonaire for the rest of november. Honduras, guatemala and
belize - dez thru march.but as usual our schedule is very loose-read
delayed. always happy to get your replies and looking forward to the gouda
in the dutch leeward antilles- alles gouda jim and rosi
