Hallo Yvonne,
this evening we arrived at home in Schwäbisch Hall after having to change
the plane in Paris briefly, because the one was dripping fuel all over the
world.
Our visit with Jim and Rosi was so rich with gemütlichen hours together
and real (wilderness-)adventures that it now feels like being wrapped
within a tender dream. We hope this keeps! Both are such great hosts!
They asked me to send the following text to you.
Alles Gouda - Wolfgang and Elke
>EMAIL FOR BOTH (LIBELLE Work) LISTS
REMEMBER US? WE DIDN`T FORGET YOU BUT INTERNET ACCESS SIMPLY
ISN`T AVAILABLE IN THE EXUMAS.
THE TELEPHONE OUTAGES FROM "TOWER PROBLEMS" IN THESE ISLANDS ARE
GIVING EVERYONE TROUBLE; BUT THE PEOPLE WITH POCKETMAIL ARE DOING
BETTER.
SINCE OUR LAST MESSAGE WE PARTICULARLY ENJOYED A BRIEF STAY IN
LITTLE HARBOUR (AN ARTIST COMMUNITY, WHOSE ENERGY NEEDS ARE MET ONLY
WITH SOLAR POWER) ON THE SOUTHEAST END OF GREAT ABACO.
AFTER A GREAT DEAL OF TRIP PLANNING WE HAD AGOOD OVERNIGHT PASSAGE TO
THE EXUMAS. THE NORTHERN AND CENTRAL EXUMAS SEEMED MORE RUSTIC AND LESS
DEVELOPED THAN THE ABACOS. BUT WE DID WELL WITH FINDING CONCH AND HAD
LEARNED TO READ THE DEPTH OF WATER EVEN WITH CORAL HEADS AND REEFS
BY COLOR.THE UNDERWATER BEAUTY AT EXUMA PARK ON WARDERICK WELLS ISLAND
WAS IMPRESSIVE. WE EVEN GOT USED TO SWIMMING WITH SHARKS AND BARACUDAS.
WE THOROUGHLY LOVED THE COMMUNITY WITH 60 RESIDENTS ON LITTLE FARMER`S
CAY WHERE WOLFGANG AND ELKE JOINED US. TOGETHER WITH THEM WE STOPPED AT
SOME BEAUTIFUL REMOTE ANCHORAGES ON THE WAY TO GEORGETOWN; WHERE WE
SUDDENLY JOINED A GROUP OF 400 BOATS.
AS WE BID THEM FAREWELL WE LOOK FORWARD TO VISITING WITH MARCUS AND FAMILY
AFTER THIS NEXT COLD FRONT PASSES AT THE END OF THE WEEK.
AS ALWAYS ALLES GUTE FROM
JIM AND ROSI<
