The Green Club was founded by Rob Phair who decided that Melbourne Grammar should be more educated about the uses of recycling and the protection of the wilderness. The club started with many different activities such as clean ups, the setting up of recycling around the school, and many other camps.
These camps would involve going to a certain area in Victoria, camping and cleaning up all the rubbish in the area. Held on the weekend there was a great chance for the boys to get away from school and home and do something helpful for the environment.
There was also an annual activity where there was a talent show where members of the school paid 50 cents to come and watch and anyone who had an act could peform infront of the school. The money raised would go to Green Peace or the Wilderness society. The Green Club by this time was up and running. From that day to know the Green Club has been an active member of both the school community and the outside community.
