Lemures

Lemures are a family of prosimians confined to Madagascar. They include the aye-aye, sifaka, and indri. All other species of lemur can be sorted into 3 distinct groups. The first is the dwarf and mouse-lemures. They are small (usually under 1 foot long) with bushy tails and pointed faces. The second group is the 'true' lemures. They are 20-40 inches with long tails. The ring-tailed lemur belongs to this group. The sportive lemur is in a third group of its own. It has large eyes and ears and a short face.
