The mission of the Indian Riverkeeper is to protect and restore the waters of North America's most diverse estuary, the Indian River Lagoon, its tributaries, fisheries and habitats through advocacy, enforcement and citizen action.

Riverkeeper wish list

The Indian Riverkeeper is committed to an on the water presence in the Indian River Lagoon and its watershed. We are in need of members, to show the breadth of local support for clean water.
We need member contributions that will bring matching grant funding and give us standing in the face of new legislation requiring members in counties where our appeals are to be presented.
We need funds for our legal challenges of the Lake Toho drawdown, deep well injection of partially treated sewage and the discharge of polluted water into our estuary from Lake Okeechobee and the SFWMD canals.
We need video, office and presentation equipment to build our capacity, to document pollution and to report to the public.
We need a web server so that we can get the pop-ups and distractions off of our web site.
