The following is an E Mail received today from "Joseph." We have witheld his Surname and email address. Those of you interested in contacting Joseph contact arabone@hotmail.com and your email request will be forwarded on to him.

Dear Mr Arabone,
I got your e-mail address while surfing for materials about Northern Samar. I'm also a traveller myself and recently got back from Northern Samar (actually only yesterday) on photo assignment for the Foundation for Philippine Environment.
I stayed in the town of Palapag for 2 days, and I also found a place rich in natural resources and very hospitable people. While in Palapag I learned that October is the month for Turtles to lay their eggs in Palihon Island.  Would you believe that only 2 days before I arrived in Palapag, some local fishermen killed a Turtle and cooked its meat and eggs. How very sad.
Good luck on your campaign.
Joseph.

Joseph later added that the feet and head of the Turtle were left on the beach for the local dogs.
