MONTANA CHAPTER | DECEMBER 1999 |
THANK YOU VALERIE!!
The Chapter would like to thank Valerie Oksendahl for all her hard work throughout the past nine years she has been an active member. Valerie has left Montana as she has accepted the NRCS State Agronomist position in Washington. Valerie has been very involved in the Chapter's activities, including serving as Secretary from 1990 to 1998, acting as the program chair for several annual meetings including this year's Buffer Conference, serving on the Chapter Development Committee and spearheading the Scholarship Committee. She also acted as the Northern Plains Region Chapter Development Representative. We wish Valerie good luck on her new position, but her enthusiastic participation in the Chapter's activities will greatly be missed.

MILLENIUM CAMPAIGN
The SWCS's Millennium Campaign has collected $34,194.20 towards its goal of $100,000. If 2500 members contribute $25 by December 31, 1999, the goal will be reached. Remember that the end of the year is coming soon and the SWCS is a nonprofit organization and donations are tax deductible. The Montana Chapter has already donated $500 and the Northern Plains Region (of which we are a part) is leading all other regions in donations. Please remember to give to this worthy cause so that your Society can better serve your needs.
