NEW MEMBER PROFILE Dave Kascht is a new Assistant State Conservationist for the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in Bozeman. His responsibilities with NRCS include, among other things, CRP, Riparian Buffers, AFO/CAFO, and some aspects of conservation planning. Dave has a resource management degree from the University of Minnesota. He has 23 years experience with NRCS as a District Conservationist in several locations in Minnesota and Wyoming, Planning Specialist in Casper, WY, and most recently Assistant State Conservationist in Albuquerque, NM. Dave was an active member of SWCS in Minnesota and Wyoming, and is rejoining the Society after a couple of year's absence.

SCHOLARSHIP AWARDED By Alan Rollo, Director This year's winner of the Chapter's $500 Scholarship is Sarah Costello. Sarah is in her third year at Montana State University studying range science. She also works part-time with the NRCS. Her goal after graduation is to continue with the NRCS. Congratulations Sarah!

PRINTS FOR SALE Area directors and other executive officers are selling the wildlife print (shown here) by Laurel Ovitt first made available at the 1997 annual meeting as a fundraising tool. The prints sell for $25.00 unframed, $40.00 framed, $22.32 of which is tax deductible. The numbered prints are a part of a planned series devoted to a conservation theme.
