Fasching is an amazing time in Venice. The atmosphere is unique. The costumes can be truly breathtaking. Around every corner is another surreal experience! We arrived on the overnight bus from Vienna and walked through the empty Venetian streets just as the sun came up. We had wonderful tasty sultanas from a little shop as we made our way through the sleeping town toward St. Marks Square and the face painters.
