I know alot has already been said about "preserving" our wildlife. But this is a subject we just cannot let the "other" guy take care of! We all have a responsibility here!!
Among many friends in the wild, my passion is with the raccoons. Many folks have studied them, and done thesis work concerning them, but ya know what? Every time another tree falls, all their research is too no avail!
The public needs to be more aware of these smart creatures. The closer we move toward their "homes", the more understanding we must have about them. If we take away their trees, ponds, and feeding areas, where do they go? Disappear???
Not so!! But we become very aggravated when they start attacking our trash cans, backyard conveniences, etc! Right? Please contact your local animal protective agency for the proper removal of these little guys! Don't attempt to remove them yourself!!!
It's time to talk about something more important. This is in regard to the St Jude's hunt!!! I find it hard to believe that they have to take money raised from a raccoon hunt to benefit children with cancer!!! Please, please don't take this the wrong way!! St. Judes is a wonderful institution doing miraculous research for kids with catastrophic cancer! But with it's association with country music and all it's millions($), they still have to slaughter these little creatures, for a few more bucks??? Something is really wrong here!!!!
PLEASE CHECK THIS OUT!
While I'm on this subject of hunts, there
is a new organization on the Web attacking this very thing.
Not only hunts but animal cruelty in general. I think
you'll find this very emotional! Take a moment and go here,
please!!
