	Interdepartmental federal information-analytical centre of USEMS

SIAE undertakes the functions of the Interdepartmental federal information-analytical centre of the Unified state environmental monitoring system for the Russian Federation (USEMS) providing a range of scientific facilities, equipment pools, computing, telecommunication and information technologies.

These functions include:

data collection from information-analytical centres of federal and regional authorities;
design of special aircraft laboratory for ecological control on the base of flight IL-103, remote sensing of earth surface;
data processing and its transformation into environmental status reports;
mathematical simulation of natural and technogenic processes for diagnosis and forecasting of ecological situation;
environmental information databases maintenance and its presentation using GIS-technology;

preparing of environmental reports for governmental authorities in order to support decision-making process of environment protection and ecological safety.
