Feb 98 - After 20 years idle, site made available by the Borough of Poole
March 98 - Site cleared of Brambles, working around slumbering slow-worms. 15 feet high Oak trees uncovered !
Apr 98 - First crops and wildflowers planted
May 98 - Three of 5 new bird boxes appear to be in use


June 98Early potatoes & salads cropped

Visit from BBC Radio and Television

Ten varieties of butterfly seen on site

July 98 Pond established, Dragonflies found it within hours

Good Maincrop - King Edwards and Desiree

Peas could have been better staked, but beans fine

August 98Any recipies for Turks Head Squash ?

Barbacue, potato oven in a wheelbarrow and thanks to all the volunteers

In August, Poole and East Dorset Art Society (PEDAS) also paid the site a visit.

Shed constructed, mostly thanks to Bill Adams, but also Blanchard and Burgess, Boone's and B&Q all of whom very kindly gave us materials.

Stream revetments - New Deal helpers have been assisting us to open out and support the stream banks.
