To use sounds within an "ichat" chat area,you must be using the ichat plug-in.
Java and HTML DO NOT support sounds.

To create a sounds file, follow these steps
Do a search and locate your ichat directory - Mine is C:\ichat\Sounds
Create a file under the ichat directory and name it "sounds".
You can fill the "sounds" file with whatever wav's you would like.
Keep in mind that people can only hear your sounds if they have a sound in their file named
exactly the same as the wav you are playing.

Below are some of the more common sounds played in the Grove

Wav's can be shared thru file transfer in chat, or msn or icq
Then, when YOU play your "sound" all in the room who have that wav in their file will hear it also.

To get your sound to play:
 - rightclick on the text bar
-choose INSERT SOUND
-use the dropdown menu to choose from one of the sounds in your list
-click on OK to play for everyone (click on PLAY SOUND for just YOU to hear it)
-hit ENTER
Then you and everyone in the room who has it will hear your sound wav
