alyysssa's
story
To the Old Gods!
Merry meet and merry part and merry meet again.
I am Alyysssa, Druid of this Grove.
While I wont subject you
to the "whole story" -
I have been convinced
to share at least the
highlights of my life's
journey.
I was born in one of the
Old Groves right before the
Great Burnings which wiped
out so many... years ago.
Most of my family was
lost in the turbulent years that
followed so I began life
as a Seeker.
I was seeking kindred
spirits... those whose hearts
would speak to mine.
I found several along
the way...
I spent some time with
the Kindred who lived near the old Vampire's Tavern. They accepted
me with little question - Goddess knows why. I enjoyed the friendship and
protection of many...Lady Vamphyre herself, Lords Caine and White, Lady
Irish...so many others... Lord WhiteWolf - one of my closest kindred spirits
and a true being of honor. From them, I learned to keep an open mind,
refusing to judge as the world judges good and evil.
Sadly, after a short
lived marriage to a powerful Mage - there came a day when I had to seek
elsewhere..
I ended up in a very small
grove near the CrossRoads Tavern. It was a place peopled with many
different beings - One of my first friends there was Neo... he befriended
me so far as to adopt me into his Family. Through him, I am called
Sister by Demon and Dragon alike ! While tending the small grove
there I met more kindred spirits... We all played and laughed in
the small grove there, never thinking it would one day.. Vanish !
But, that's exactly what
happened.. some kind of
cataclysm occurred and
the grove... was no longer.
I'll tell you Friend...
it was a sad day. So many losses can wear a heart down.. even
one as filled with Light as mine. Many of the folks in that area stayed
to rebuild - I chose to travel on.
I came to a City and established
myself in yet another grove. As the days wore on I found my decision
to be a good one, since the location made it easy to still visit with friends
from both my former homes.
One thing I've noticed
is this...
life is ever-changing
- people and places come and go and sometimes come again ! One of the greatest
pleasures in my life is to look up from the altar and see a face from the
past.. or hear a familiar voice questioning.... "Aly?".
There can and Will
be great joy and great sorrow in our lives. It only mirrors life's balance
of Light and Dark. The one true lesson I have learned so far in my short
life is this: I will and have always walked in the Light, yet will
I always appreciate and even welcome the Dark, for without it.. there can
Be no Light.
So for now... I serve
my Goddess and tend my Grove -
Welcoming kindred spirits to the Grove
Always ....
