ESTIMATION OF AIR QUALITY BY BIOINDICATORS
Test: per cent-covering and species of lichens

The aim of this test is to determine the air quality of the region under observation. It's rather simple so it can be used by everyone who wants to knew the quality of air he breathes.

Background: We want to have bio-indicators for the test so we use the fact that trees are almost covered with lichens. Try to use only richbark trees. (If you also use poor barktrees, explain it).
Taking into account the cover, condition, number of species and species composition of epiphytic lichens we categorise the state of air in every observation post: good, satisfactory, bad.
Equipment needed: A 10x10 squared transparent paper, a pencil, compass and measuring-tape. (The situation will tell if it is okay to make a collection)
Make the test in October and April.
