"Pansy Red"
STREPTOCARPUS are African plants, and are often called Cape Primroses. They are commonly available in garden centers, in shades of blue, pink, and in white. They are unusual, in that they are a group of single leaves that bear flowers from their bases, and continue to grow into long straps. These leaves can be trimmed at the end to neaten their appearence if they become damaged, but the edges of the cut will turn brown. There are some Streps that have only one big leaf. These are grown as a curiosity, for their flowers are not too large.
