hi, was just looking at what happened to flt 712 and it seems strikingly similar to TWA flt 800. it seems that the coverups never change, just the names of the planes. ???

Our family lost a loved one March 3, 1991, UA585, in a "supposed" mystery 737 crash. It was always the rudder failure, but Boeing faught fiercely to prevent the truth from coming out. They lost. On March 24, 1999, after 8years, the NTSB finally fessed up with the truth that UA585 was caused by rudder failure. It was very gratifying to finally hear the TRUTH. I hope the families of EI712 will also learn the truth in the near future! Keep up the great work. The website is terrific. gail

Excellent site ! I note with extreme interest the comments from Steve Carmichael Timson on the peculiarities of the Sea Dart missile. I think that this is a most plausible explanation ... Evidence thus far gathered points to a missile strike, and the presence of so many Royal Naval vessels, coupled with the current cover up, supports this theory. When will governments realise that cover ups only ATTRACT attention to the very issues that th y are attempting to hide ??? The truth will eventually surface...

A very good site and very informative. I was especially interested in the idea that HMS Penelope missfired a Sea-Dart missile which brought down the aircraft. I am an ex-member of the Royal Navy and served in the late 70s and was involved, whilst servin on HMS Antrim, with missile tests involving the Penelope in the United States. The Sea Dart had a facility that could launch a missile automatically should a threat to the ship occur. It was common knowledge that even when switched off that the system ould wake up and lock on a target and had to be stopped so the control of the system had to be manned 24 hrs a day. This happened quite a lot when our helo used to approach the ship the launcher would turn towards it. This fault in the system was also r ported in the press in 1982 when it woke up and locked onto Prince Andrews helicopter in the Falklands war so it is a theory that can't really be discounted.

A long time has passed since we lost our loved ones to the Tragedy of the St. Phelim. It’s with the strength and commitment for the love of those we lost, that we will continue to search and demand that the truth about what happened to the flight is exposed. There are people who have small pieces of information. If they could come forward with what they know then we can move a bit closer to the end and finally get to close the Book on the tragedy that has broken so many hearts for too many years. All information will be treated as confidential.

Sad to see so many prepared to believe the worst of everyone, to see conspiracies under every stone, to show unacceptance of scientific evidence.Oh and to string theories and suppositions together to explain accidents.

I am extremely interested in this site. The only Americans on the plane were relatives of mine. Each time there is a plane crash in the news followed by heroic efforts to get at the truth I can't help but ask why we don't have any answers on the truth a out why this plane went down. It makes me angry. Isn't there a TV crew that would do a feature story on this? Maybe they could get some answers with their investigative teams.

I have to complement you on your excellent site,I remain convinced that the Vickers Viscount was downed by either a drone or a Surface to Air Missile,It is amazing that at the time,we did not have sufficient radar coverage of the area and that British Ves els were allowed to roam as they wished, before and after the crash. When you think about it,This was an Irish disaster, the british must have had something to cover up,I very much doubt that if the viscount had crashed because of a mechanical malfunction th British would have been as interested,as you say 5 British ships in the area.... Best of luck to you in finding out the truth..

The present review is one step along the road to find out what happened to our relatives. It may prove to be helpful,it may not. Whatever the outcome, solid facts remain-. Flight 712 took off from Cork airport on a bright and clear March /morning,within th hour all on board were dead.WHY?AND WHAT HAPPENED? A special thank you to the people of Wexford and in particular to the six people who met with me over the past 5 days. Their contribution to our work is invaluable. Your evidence will be heard Celine O' Donoghue Relatives Committee

Do not expect anything new from the official review now being undertaken by the British and Irish Govt. into the Tuskar tradgedy. We have had 30 years of secrecy, from MoD ,IrishNavy Royal Navy,,Aer Lingus,Irish Govt.,The relatives feelings have been ignore .Whatever happened to fl. 712 on 24/3/1968 must have been really sensational to warrent the amount of containment and secrecy which was accorded to it by the aforementioned institutions.Ship log books only go missing when something drastic has happened i volving the vessel. If there is nothing to hide you can reveal you'r innermost thoughts. But with a coverup you'v gotta keep inventing. What do you do when someone looks like getting a little too close, and may be likely to blow some of your cover. You can lay false trails lie about lies and you can denounce that person as being of unsound mind .Now everything is neatly covered over again.Timid questions easily batted away .The questioners can see how hopeless it is., and hopefully they will tire. But the search for truth is eternal and coverups cannot be sustained forever. This all happened over 30 years ago. Courage is necessary for those with information to speak.Either publicly or privatly to an intermediary.Your's sincerely,Jerome McCormick

I'm worried that the British Ministry of Defence would 'in national interests' cover up the distinct possibility that a section of the British Armed Forces brought down Flight 712. All the signs are pointing to this. Special regards to any of the relatives of Flight 712 that read this - there are many, many people worldwide that support your ongoing attempts to get justice. Any aviation disaster which results in as many deaths as the Tuskar crash demands a prompt and open investigation. Whether in this case the negligence was on the part of comercial intrests i.e Aer Lingus and the Vickers company or the British Ministry of efence seems to me to be incidental. The bottom line is that the families of those who died were denied an explanation as to how their loved ones perished because of the vested interests of those who were responsible. The least they are intitled to is ful and truthful explanation now.
