Introduction
The fish of the African Rift Lakes are some of the most diverse in the world. In fact many of the same species of fish have completely different color morphs 5-10 miles down the Lake. This is mainly due to the large sand drifts separating the "rock reefs" that the fish live in. Although even in the seemingly barren sand drifts there is a variety of life. These reasons made the Cichlids of Africa and more specifically the Rift Lake Cichlids some of the most popular aquarium fish in the hobby.

Whats New
I have always been partial to the cichlids of Lake Tanganyika and Lake Malawi. Although now I have realized that the Victorians will be coming up in the hobby as well. This somewhat scares me that we are only now finding certain species in the lake. We must have missed many species that already gone extinct due to the release of the Nile Perch to help out the local fishing industry. I will be including a section on each lake in the future. Right now I have another site on Tropheus, one of my long time favorites of Lake Tanganyika.  The newest addition to the page is the
Arcticle of the Month section.  There will soon be a links page to other awesome web sites and also work will continue on the site as a whole as time allows.
NOTICE

My friend and I have decided to rent a house near ASU and start keeping fish and working on the web site as a more serious endevour.  We have also decided to start a cleaning and cichlid tank design business to help pay for all the new tanks and fish we plan to get.  This will begin in around Jan. 2001 and we will have a new digital camera and server to support the new site.  If you have any good name suggestions for our new business it would be very much appreciated.  Also if you are a business owner and are located in the Phoenix area looking for someone to design and/or maintain an aquarium give me an e-mail.
ACA convention article is up.  It is small and to the point, but if you need more details just email me or consult the
official convention web site.  If you have any suggestions on more things to put about the convention just e-mail me.  Thank you for all the e-mail regarding all kinds of fish stuff.  I especially love to see the other web sites out there.  The page has also been entered by someone out there to other fish search engines so whoever you are I'd like to thank you.
