A bit about me and my family.

I was born, and spent half my life in Bellflower, California. My mother's People are Wazhazhe. (See Children of The Sun.) My father's People are Miniconjou/Dineh. I was not raised in the traditional manner. I had been taught the virtues and niceties of money and the way of the World of those who came to this place and changed everything for us. I came to embrace my heritage, the ways of my Ancestors, while I was attending Jacksonville State University.

I am formally trained as a physician's assistant and did extensive study and research in the fields of geriatrics and oncology/immunology. I became interested in the body's ability to heal itself if given the proper opportunity. So I began a study in the field of Dietary Sciences and Nutrition with an emphasis in food and drug interactions. I did independent research on the traditional recipes of Native American Peoples. Seeing that, in most instances, these traditional foods are much more nutritious, I try to re-educate people's way of viewing food and nutrition.

I am presently residing, with my very supportive and loving wife, Tache Che (Little Deer), at Red Thunder's Trading Post in the foothills of the Appalachians. We enjoy the traditional lifestyle. It is in the Sacred Mountains of our Ancestors where we daily perform the Ceremonies to all of Creation. We seek to help people realize the importance of returning to a way of prayer and contemplation for all toward the entire universe. We cannot stop the Earth Changes, but we can lessen the severity of these changes through proper living, changing our own attitudes toward other People--seeing that we are all related, and treating the Earth Mother with the same gentleness of a woman giving birth to a child.

I would like to show appreciation to my wife who sits quietly and patiently while I type the words--her presence at my side is a constant encouragement.

I would like to extend a thank you from the heart to my dear friend Mary Summer Rain who, through her patience and encouragement, has shown me the multiplicity of paths and how they lead to each other when we realize that we are really all the same.

I would like to thank my sister Ishaah, who has the unique gift of putting the computer pages together, as I am totally ignorant of such matters.

But above all, the most Thanks and Appreciation are to be sent to Wakontah--Creator of Everything. It is this Creator who has allowed me to learn from the whisperings of the Old Ones, our Ancestors. The things that I have to say are not my teachings. These are the words of thousands of years. I only repeat what I have been taught and have been told.
