As you remember, Dames & Moore was paid $279,000 of JC taxpayers dollars for the conceptual design and permitting to get the DEP etc to allow the City to extend Jersey Avenue to Audrey Zapp Drive in Liberty State Park. They're hoping to fill in the Morris Canal, a wet land, and run a road over it.... Of course they were attempting to cover this up by saying their only rationale was to clear up the "floatables" problem in the canal. That was before we came along, CRAJE- predecessor to HART, and put all the pieces together and broadcasted it.As it currently stands, seems like D&M has spent all the money & has a proposal before the City's Engineering Dept for an additional appropriation $$$$ to clear up the sediment in the canal, remove floatables again and something about dry weather flows-eliminating them... My source has provided no time frame ... We need to look out for this new resolution when it goes before the City Council.
