Comments: An interesting site. In 1982 Dr Chris Furley and myself not only saw adult male Tahr but also female with young and single young. These were photographed and shown to the Al Ain branch of the Emirates Natural History Group. An article was also written. Myself and a team of ot ers brought the body you mentioned down from Hafeet. I had just finished my enlistment in the US Army and was having fun trekking through Europe when a cousin in Obernai, France asked me deliver a Christmas present to Tilde's Mom, since I was inroute to Innsbruck to visit an uncle. Strange how fate works, our lives may have traveled distinctly different paths, but we have been friends ever since. Now I am married and living in the USA, and she is married and living in South Africa. I am proud to know Tilde and Chris and have the ability to help others learn of the hard work they are doing to preserve Africa's Wildlife! |
