The Patterson line begins with Nancy Patterson who was married to Henry Kinchen Phillips. She was born in 1811 in North Carolina. They married October 11, 1832. She died June 27, 1888 in Hart County, Georgia and is buried in the Canon Church Cemetery.

Her father was Andrew Patterson and her grandparents were William Patterson and Elizabeth Peoples both born in Ireland. William came to Georgia from Maryland. He is of the "who hit Billy Patterson" fame.

A cousin of Nancy's, Elizabeth Patterson, married Napoleon Bonteparte's brother, Jerome. deb_way@bellsouth.net
