Mary Elizabeth Gillespie-Elizabeth, or Lib to family members, Mom to grandkids- was a very Christian woman. She was a wonderful wife and mother. She loved Carmon very much.

Elizabeth and Carmon married March 17, 1934. They were married for nearly 60 years.

She was born May 6, 1916 and died March 6, 1995. Her siblings were: Bessie, Ola Estelle, Albert and Ercie. Her parents were William Alfred Gillespie and Mary Katherine Rogers.

William was born on May 21, 1875 and died on April 26, 1958. . William and Mary were married on Christmas Day in 1893.

His siblings were: Ewell F. b. December 28, 1873; James Ira b. August 3, 1876; David Wesley b. March 18, 1878; Martha Fredella Paralee b. May 8, 1879; Nettie L. b. abt 1882; Weldon Leverge b. abt 1885; Myrtle b. Feb 18, 1887; and Thomas L. b. 1889.

William's father was, John Calhoun Gillespie b. May 28, 1855 d. January 20, 1926. His mother's name was Nancy Ellen Bowling b. March 9, 1850 in Blount Co., Alabama d. October 30, 1905 in Jefferson Co, Alabama. John was married twice but had all his children with Nancy, his first wife. His second wife was Leila Cowden.

John's father was, David b. 1831 d. in June of 1899. His mother was Mary Margaret Calhoun.
