The Lord has done many great and wonderful things in my life! I want to share the Good News of my personal savior, Jesus Christ. I would be happy to speak to you about my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
2 When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.
3 Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.
4 One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in his temple.
I was raised in a Christian family. In my earliest recollections, our family attended the First Presbyterian Church in Cedartown, Georgia. I was saved at that church during Vacation Bible School when I was 9 years old.
I was changed. I wanted Him in my heart. I wanted to give my soul to the Lord. Instead of wanting to live just for myself, I wanted to live my life as a Christian, accepting Him as my Savior, Lord and Master.
Before I could be baptised, I had to attend class to learn more about the Bible, the church and to what I was committing myself. This was a requirement of the Presbyterian church.
We moved to Statesboro, Georgia and attended the First Presbyterian Church there. My family attended regularly in Cedartown and Statesboro.
Then we moved to Gadsden, Alabama. I attended Bellevue Baptist Church because it was close to my house and my friends went there. In Gadsden, my family seldom went to church.
I felt at home in this church, as if this was where the Lord wanted me to be. Bellevue believed in total submersion. One night I felt led to do so, to become a member.
I grew up going to this church sporadically since my family didn't go with me. I moved away from Gadsden several times but, didn't move my membership from Bellevue or attend church anywhere regularly.
I moved back to Gadsden, married, and had a child. The man I married claimed to be a Christian, but wouldn't go to church with me.
Like most Christian mothers, I felt the need to raise my daughter in the church hearing the "Good News". I dedicated my daughter to the Lord at Bellevue having the best intentions. But I let things get in the way of our regular attendance.
I was not a committed Christian but, since I was saved, have always felt the presence of the Lord and the need to be in His House. I have been led astray many times. The last time, I was depending on myself to be lifted out of a bad situation. I was living in Cartersville, Georgia. Things just got worse for me because I was depending on myself and not on the Lord. That's when the Lord showed me the need to be in His House with His People worshipping Him. I felt He led me to Faith Baptist Church.
At Faith, I've felt at home, the way I did at Bellevue. The Pastor, Larry Foster, has taught me the need of learning and living the Bible's teachings. I was drawn closer to the Lord through Brother Larry's tutelage. The closer I get to the Lord, the closer I want to become.
One night during the church service, I was drawn to the alter to rededicate my life to the Lord. I finally realized how much I had lived for myself instead of living for the Lord. I wanted to turn my life completely over to Him. I want to put living my life as a committed Christian before earthly things.
I've begun a new ministry for the Lord, being a dedicated wife to a Christian man. He is a man I can serve the Lord with, who wants to be his best for Him.
I also have three new children from Wayne's previous marriage: Angie, Blake and Steffi. They are married and have families of their own. (I'm a grandmother!)
Wayne ended his service as Minister of Music at The First Baptist Church in Vincent, Alabama after the Christmas program in the year 1999. He took over the Music Ministry at my church, Faith Baptist in January 2000.
On going construction! More later, I promise!!
