In order to celebrate the opening of the Virgin Megastore in Lisbon, Swatch and BMG joined to create the 1st special limited edition in Portugal. Swatch used the only model until than produced dedicated to our country the "Algarve" GN 128.
Glazed tiles ("azulejos") are a cultural heritage of the Arab presence more than 700 years ago in where is today Algarve (the most south region of Portugal).
These ceramic objects are used to decorate all kind of constructions everywhere in Portugal. Its basic colors are blue and / or yellow on a white basis.
This is an exclusive numbered edition and the package also contains a cut CD (with the shape of a swatch) of modern Portuguese pop music. It was released in October 1996.
