A Post Commander

Fishtown resident and member of Elm Tree Post #88, Paul Morawski, was honored as one of Pennsylvania's American Legion Post commanders of the Year at the 80th Annual State American Legion convention in early July. Morawski was one of only 25 post commanders, out of over 850 Pennsylvania posts to receive the honor. The commander was required to have reached 100% of the targeted membership for his post, as well as having conducted services for at least two of the following: Memorial Day, Flag Day, Legion Birthday and Veterans'Day. Also, the commander's post must have participated in three or more Legion Americanism programs which include various programs for the nation's youth, the good of the community, and the encouragement of patriotism.
