Soapwort: (saponaria officinalis)
Medicinal part: Rootstock. Soapwart has been used as a wash for dermatitis, itching skin and tumor.
Bee Balm: (Monarda didyma)
Medicinal part: Herb, leaves. You can use the crushed leaves as a poultice for sores, tumors and insect bites. Nectar source for butterflies.
Cabbage: (Brassica ssp.)
Primary larval food for the Cabbage White and Checkered White Butterflies.
Plantain: (Plantago lanceolata)
Medicinal Part: The plant. The fresh leaves are crushed and applied to wounds, sores, cuts, insect bites and hemorrhoids. Primary larval food for the Buckeye and Baltimore Butterflies.
Parsley: (Petroselinum sativum)
Medicinal Parts: Plant seeds. It can be used as a antispasmodic, carminative, diuretic and expectorant. Primary larval food for the Black Swallowtail and Anise Swallowtail Butterflies.
Anise: (Pimpinella anisum)
Medicinal Part: Seed. Anise is an annual herb of the carrot family, grown for aniseed, its small fragrant fruits. Its essential oil is used to flavor licorice candies, cough drops and liqueurs such as anisette. It is used to relieve flatulence and colic in infants.
Fennel: (Foeniculum vulgare)
Medicinal Parts: Root and seed. It can be used for stomach and intestinal remedies. Primary larval food for the Black Swallowtail and Anise Swallowtail Butterflies.
