Abbreviations of Awards
Did you ever wonder what those lonely letters (ie: HCC/AOS)....or the mumbo jumbo after your plant's name meant? Stop wondering. These are the abbreviations of the awards. Remember, all scoring is based on 100 points. The second set of letters, after the slash ( / ) is the Society or group that did the deed.

    The Orchid Alphabet    
FCC First Class Certificate 90 points or above
AM Award of Merit 80-89 points
HCC Highly Recommended Certificate 75-79 points
JC Judges Commendation Awarded for an unscorable quality
AD Award of Distinction Awarded for a new breeding direction
AQ Award of Quality A cross improved over the former type
CBM Certificate of Botanical Merit
CCA Certificate of Cultural Achievement
CCM Certificate of Cultural Merit
CBE Certificate of Botanical Excellence

It's all clear now... RIGHT??
