The 4 EnviroSpiritual Laws are disseminated in the format of a travelling photo-image display at events such as Earth Day or various environmental conferences as well as church events (bazaars, tec.) Dozens of educational materials are displayed and distributed.
The Four Laws were authored by members of Jax Caring For Creation, a founded January 11, 1993 by a group of Christian Environmental professionals who see man's growing detachment from the creation as symptomatic of his separation from the Creator. Man's world orientation leads him to damage creation, often in gnorance or indifference.
JCFC is a member of the Interfaith Environmental Concerns Group and publishes a newsletter as well as participating in community events. JCFC members also interact with various national and international green faith programs.
God created the heavens and earth and all life - plants and animals and waterfalls and rainbows and sunsets - to demonstrate his glory.
For by Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth. Col. 1:16
Because he created all things, they and we belong to him.
The earth is the Lord's and everything in it. I Cor. 10:26
God uses the creation as a witness from Him to man.
I now establish my covenant with you....(and) every living creature on earth. Gen. 9:9
But ask the animals, and they will teach you....which of these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this? Job 12:9
God elevated man above the animals - but just below the angels - and gave him the unique privilege and responsibility to minister to creation.
The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to minister to it and to guard it. Gen. 2:15
But man has not always lived up to God's expectations.
Man has turned his back on the Lord and has forgotten the noble purposes for which God created man: to glorify God, be his companion, and care for creation. As a result, man degrades his environment.
The earth is defiled by its people. Isa. 24:5
Throughout history, man's actions have subjected himself to natural calamities. God uses environmental catastrophes as a witness to man's dependence on God for his daily needs.
There is no faithfulness, no love, no acknowledgment of God in the land. Because of this the land mourns and all who live in it waste away: the beasts of the field and the birds of the air and the fish of the sea are dying. Hos. 4:1-4
As long as man persists in thinking of himself as creator, worshipping man's creations (cars, malls, etc.) and ignoring God's laws, he is doomed. Without God's help, man cannot even feed himself.
So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who makes things grow. I Cor. 3:4
Urban man has become so separated from God and from creation that many do not know that food is grown in the earth. Water comes from a faucet, not from rainfall.
This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, namely that God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself.
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
The earth's creatures have suffered through no fault of their own, but because of man's actions. In God's plan for restoration, the environment will be returned to the pre-fall peace of Eden, salom.
The wolf will live with the lamb....and a little child will lead them.... for the earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord. Isa. 11:6
To him who is thirsty for a return to God, He will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life.
God has never rescinded his commands for man to properly treat His creatures.
Woe to the shepherds who do not take care of the flock. Ez. 34:2-4
A righteous man cares for the needs of his animal. Prov. 12:10
God himself plans to use man to restore creation. His incarnate son and the body of believers in whom Christ lives right down to this day, have been directed to play a crucial part in the restoration plan.
Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Mark 16:15
If mankind keeps quiet, even the very stones will cry out. The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed.
