INTERVIEW S GOSPODINOM STJEPANOM VOKIĆEM
Tomislav: Kako se desilo da je roda došla do vas?
Dogodilo se to da joj je bilo slomljeno krilo, pecao sam gore na Iločkom ribnjaku, kupila je po putu male žabe. Vjerovatno su lovci pucali na nju, ja i moja dva prijatelja smo je vidjeli, onda sam je ja uzeo sebi.
Tomislav: Koliko se dugo ovdje nalazi?
Gdin. Stipo: Već 4 godine, ovo sad će biti peto ljeto kako je kod mene.
Tomislav: Imate li kaku zgodnu situaciju s njom?
Gdin. Stipo: Pa ljudi se čude, stanu tu na putu i promatraju je, ne znaju odakle je, neki čak ni ne poznaju koja je to ptica.
Ja idem s njom preko igrališta dolje na ribnjak pecat, ona ide ispred mene , ja nosim amper i štap, oni se čude što je to.
Tomislav: Vidim da tu ima dimnjak s gnijezdom, šta nam imate reći o tome?
Gdin. Stipo: Pa ima ovdje u Brodu jedan i u Ruščici jedan.
Tomislav: Da li tu dolaze i druge rode?
Gdin. Stipo: Da tu već 13 godina dolazi jedan te isti par, mama i tata od ove rode.
Tomislav: Čime ju hranite?
Gdin. Stipo: Donesem joj ribe, jede govedinu, šnicle, kad bude školjki, od ribe najviše voli žutooku i cvergla.
Tomislav: Vidim da imate i drugih životinja, kako se roda slaže s njima?
Gdin. Stipo: Imam psa koji ima svoju kućicu, kad ne dođemo do kasno kući, roda ode tamo , stane kod psa i čuva ga.
Tomislav: Da li grijete prostoriju u kojoj roda boravi?
Gdin. Stipo: Grijem non stop, jer ona dršće na 10 stupnjeva.
Tomislav: I na kraju, koliko je stara?
Gdin. Stipo: Ima četiri godine, ali rode inače žive do 55-60 godina, a u osmoj godini spolno sazriju.

Tomislav: How did it happen that the stork came to you ?
Mr. Vokić: It happened because its wing was broken, and while I was fishing at the Ilok fish pond, it was pisking young frogs along the road. Probably the hunters had shot it, me and two friends of mine saw it and then I brought it to my home.
Tomislav: How long has it been there?
Mr. Vokić: Well, people are often surprised, they stop for a while watching it not knowing where the stork is from, some of them don't even know what kind of bird it is.
Tomislav: I can see the chimney with a nest, can you explain that?
Mr. Vokić:Yes, there is one nest here in Brod, and there is one more in Ruščica.
Tomislav: Do the other storks nest there?
Mr. Vokić: Yes for about 13 years now, there has nested the same pair of storks, probably my stork's parents.
Tomislav: What do you feed it with?
Mr. Vokić: I bring it the fish, it eats beff, steaks, sometimes I have some shells. Its favourites are ordinary fish I can fish at the pond.
Tomislav: I can see some other animals there, how is the stork getting on with them?
Mr. Vokić: I have got a dog in its kennel. When we are lote home, the stork goes to it, stands by the kennel, watching the dog.
Tomislav: do you heat the place where the stork stays?
Mr. Vokić: Yes, I have to heat it, the stork trembles of cold at 10° C.
Tomislav: And one more question for the end. How old is the stork?
Mr. Vokić: It's four years old now, but the storks live up to 55, 60 years, at the age of
eight they are grown up.
