06.02.2001 Bijele rode u Kopačkom ritu/ White Storks in Kopacki rit- Croatia

Zbog toga umjesto više desetina parova u nekim selima gnijezdi svega nekoliko parova tih ptica. Inače redovita je selica. Izuzetno, pojedini primjerci prezime, najčešće u selima uz pomoć čovjeka. White stork in Kopacki Rit swampland.
WHITE STORK White stork is a regular nesting bird in virtually all the villages in the region surrounding the Kopacki Rit swampland. There were many previous attempts of trying to settle and nest of a certain pairs of birds on willow trees around, and in the swampland itself. Following the disappearance of habitats for feeding, the wholesome population of white stork is in downfall. In the recent times it was noticed that the eggs usually hatch smaller birds in size. Due to that more tenths of pairs, at some locations, nest only a couple of pairs of these birds. Otherwise, it is a regular migratory bird. Exceptionally, certain examples winters in the region, most often in villages and other settlements and with the help of men.
