Dragonfly
Pearl Ring
Silver & Gold Ring

A studio jeweller in Sydney for 18 years, working in gold and silver using precious and semi-precious stones.

Her love of Nature led her to incorporate botanical themes in her jewellery preferring fine intricate work.

While still running her own jewellery studio, Minky found a natural affinity with miniature painting, a subject she has now studied for the last 10 years, and Minky manages to work with the two disciplines quite comfortably, sometimes displaying both mediums together.

She understands the Buddhist philosophy - all nature is in a state of change. In her practice of yoga and meditation she has come to agreement with the statement ;

contentment is liking what one does, not doing what one likes.

Her aim is to discover through observation the often un-noticed. Minky has a quirky sense of humour often reflected in her work in a whimsical way.

Minky is presently studying printmaking to extend her employment of materials. She has been a member of the Australian Society of Miniature Art since 1988 and was treasurer for five years.

Her work has been shown in group exhibitions in Sydney and interstate Australia winning a first prize and 2 Highly commended awards for watercolour miniatures. It may also be seen in National and International collections.

Minky's work can be seen at the following galleries in Sydney Australia......................................Phillips & Co.....Pochoir.....Intaglio.....Telopea Galleries.....Gallery Six.....Moulton Galleries
