To achieve satisfactory results, we need to co-ordinate our approaches and actions in TCM. This is because of the extent of areas involved, the variety of issues present, and the large number of residents and community interest and action groups involved. Our Committee has a key role, because of our specific local knowledge and identified functions, in facilitating co-operation and co-ordination between government agencies and the community to implement TCM policies and programs.
If government agencies and the local community
co-ordinate efficiently, they can more easily implement the strategies
to improve the overall quality of the catchment. The mechanisms available
for achieving inter-agency and community co-ordination are varied
and will generally depend on the issues being addressed and the government
agencies involved.
